SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES

• Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
• Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
• Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
• Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

"Diego Luna is definitely at the top of my guilt-free three," Noya said as he walked back to the frat house with his boyfriend Asahi and his best friend Tanaka. "I don't even know who the other two are, but Diego Luna is there."

"Serena Williams is still at the top of my guilt-free three," Tanaka said. "Then young Betty White. Then Zac Efron."

"...Zac Efron?" Noya said. He and Asahi shared a quick look.

"Yeah. I'm like, totally straight, but I'd totally make an exception for Zac Efron."

"...Right," Asahi said.

That was one of the first signs. They should have known that more would be to come.

"What kind of drill do we want?" Asahi asked. They were at Home Depot trying to get stuff to fix the back porch of the frat house after some douchebag from the lacrosse team jumped off the roof and broke the railing. They'd already gotten most of the other supplies, but the fact was that they didn't have a drill, and no one they knew had a drill. It was a decent enough investment to make, they figured, considering how frequently things got broken in the frat house.

Tanaka grinned, patting Asahi's shoulder. "I know what kind of drill I want," he said. "I want one right in the ass."

"...What does that mean?" Noya asked.

"It's a joke!" Tanaka said, immediately going on the defensive. "Like, I'm not gay. I'm just making a joke."

"We never said you were gay," Asahi said. He and Noya shared another moment of significant eye contact.

"How about we get this drill? It's got a lifetime warranty," Noya said, changing the subject. He wondered how long it would be until they'd have to sit Tanaka down and have a Talk.

"God, that guy is so fucking hot," Tanaka said, beer sloshing out of his red solo cup as he leaned against the door frame. He was gesturing at one of the guys from a neighboring frat, a tall muscular athlete with messy dark hair. Noya thought his name might be Kuroo, but he wasn't quite sure enough to say so.

"Yeah, he does have, uh, pretty big muscles," Noya allowed. "You sure you're not at least a little bit, uh, not straight?"

"Nah, dude, I'm just comfortable with my sexuality, you know?" Tanaka said. "I can admit when I guy has a handsome face... and fuckin' enormous biceps... and the tightest ass...." He trailed off, ogling the guy openly. "...On second thought, I might be a little gay."

No shit, Noya wanted to say, but he held his tongue. "I'm happy for you, dude," he said instead, clapping Tanaka on the shoulder. "You should go ask if he's single."

"You think so?" Tanaka kept staring at the guy. Then he downed the rest of his drink and handed the empty cup to Noya. "You know what? I think I will. I'm going to ask him."

"Good luck, dude," Noya said. Then he slipped up the stairs to find Asahi.

Everyone was at least a little gay. He was surprised it took Tanaka this long to realize it.

They need to stop wasting time when they have so little, when they’re so close to the end of the rope, when Kise’s going pro and Kasamatsu’s studies are only going to get more intense, when they’ll be physically split up and all signs point to an actual breakup (Kise doesn’t want that, but he doesn’t want it to die a painful death, carried like a living person between them as it rots them both away from its own obvious decay; the two of them aren’t likely to ignore it like that but distance makes people do some crazy things).

Kise’s going overseas; Kasamatsu’s staying put; Kise will go farther and Kasamatsu will still be here, living his own life, traveling his own trajectory, until they’re so far apart it’s impossible to bring them back around. They’re like two straight lines, intersecting, in each other’s line of sight for a bit and then going farther away, into the distance, beyond the horizon. Maybe that’s a grim and hopeless way of looking at things; maybe they can make it through. Kise wants to, wants to, but.

It’s hard to think about the future; it’s hard to think about it as different from now but still good. It’s pretty good now, basketball together in the park, Kise pretending to go to cram school but skipping out (he’s not going to college anyway) and staying back at Kasamatsu’s apartment, coaxing him back into bed, pressing kisses to his neck and shoulders until he blushes like it’s their first date all over again and they’re both younger, less sure, less fully formed. But everything Kise does is intentional now, not just most things; they know each other’s bodies like worn-in sneakers, molded to each other (not tired of it, never tired of the way they’ve learned to make things fit).

But time is still short, shortening, peeling away like the skin of an apple that Kasamatsu scrapes off with a knife over the garbage can, sweat on his neck and teeth on his lip, Kise watching and waiting for the smallest apple slice pressed into his own waiting mouth.

“Cut your own next time,” says Kasamatsu.

And then he feeds Kise another, contradicting himself, letting Kise lick the tang and sweetness from his fingertips before he pulls away, stretching out their time, dilating it just a little longer, overused elastic with just a bit more give left.

"Drop it," Ryouta says, not even looking at Yukio while taking the vacant seat beside him in the library. "Walk from it."

Yukio looks down at the book he has open in front of him, last week's half-complete homework sitting open just so that his page doesn't look blank. "You know I can't do that."

Ryouta puts his pen in his mouth, biting on the end of it. Yukio glances at him from the corner of his eye and it's a mistake. It's always a little difficult looking directly at Ryouta, and it's even harder looking away. Ryouta is like a cracked mirror; he lets people see fragmented pieces of themselves when they look at him, but it's never quite aligned the way it should be. It's never a comfortable sight, but it's still beautiful in its own way, all of Yukio's neuroses painted onto a prettier canvas.

With a sigh, Ryouta puts the pen down and takes a more direct approach. "Stop looking, Senpai. You're not going to find what you want."

Yukio can't quite tell if Ryouta means to stop looking at him, or stop looking for the missing kid from their class. He doesn't ask, when he supposes that it works just as well for both.

"You know I can't," he says again.

Ryouta turns to him then, and for a moment, it looks like he's burning up with anger. There's a tension around his eyes that would be terrifying, if Yukio were anyone else. "You're going to cause more trouble than you're going to fix. You're going to make a target of yourself. You're dealing with something over your head. This is not a world that you're a part of."

"You're familiar with it, though," Yukio replies, meeting Ryouta's gaze and holding it. "You can get me in. You can make sure that I don't misstep. You can introduce me to the—"

"Don't say his name," Ryouta hisses, voice so quiet that Yukio can barely hear it.

"You can, though," Yukio says, frustrated. "You can take me to him. You can help me."

"I'm not going to do that," Ryouta replies, and ends the conversation by getting up and gathering his books, walking away.

Yukio lets him go for a moment, and then takes a deep breath. Someone like Ryouta draws attention wherever he goes, and that means that they would have seen Yukio talking to him too.

He puts his homework into his bag, getting up and heading towards the bathroom until he's out of sight, then ducks around the back of the building, going all the way out to the basketball courts at the very edge of the campus.

Ryouta is sitting there, waiting for him, chin resting in his hand.

Yukio stops in front of him. "I want to meet the Emperor."

With an unhappy sigh, Ryouta nods. "Yes you do."

It’s like a dream, waking up in the morning, vision blurry with sleep, Kasamatsu snoring next to him, Kise’s tank top falling from his shoulder (the one Kise had had to convince him to borrow but Kasamatsu had said was some kind of cheesy shit because it wouldn’t fit him and here he is, wearing it, snuggled down into Kise’s blankets). It’s like he’s woken up from something he can’t remember, fuzzily pleasant but kind of suspenseful and weird, broken through to the next layer of dreaming, a little bit lucid but he still can't do everything he wants.

Right now he’d like to levitate; he thinks about it but his body’s still anchored to the bed, to Kasamatsu, to the sun slanting through the shades from where it shines off the window across the way, another dorm room and another student. Kise shifts, huffing, against Kasamatsu; Kasamatsu’s out like last season’s couture, deeply in his own next layer of the dream (or maybe he’s just Kise’s dreamed-up version and Kise’s mind is acting too shallow to conjure him up in more dimensions than this).

“Senpai," Kise whispers, and Kasamatsu snorts, wiggling his shoulder.

It’s cute; Kise smiles, kissing the back of his ear. Kasamatsu ought to get some sleep; they both ought to get some more (they get so little as it is, with so much work). Kise sighs, closing his eyes, and then the alarm blares loudly through the room, from Kasamatsu’s phone on the other side (the dorm room is tiny but not so tiny that Kasamatsu doesn’t need to go get up to get it). Kasamatsu groans, almost rolling out of bed, and Kise laughs.

“Brat,” says Kasamatsu, his voice breaking and scratchy; he stumbles over toward his phone, plugged into the wall, and shuts off the alarm.

Kise watches the muscles in his shoulders as he yawns and then turns. Kise remembers that his leg is aching, and his stomach growls, reminding him just how long it’s been since he last ate (modeling diet or no, he can’t live on nothing). This is too real to be a dream, too grounded and almost too boring but for Kasamatsu shuffling back over and crawling back into bed.

“We got fifteen more minutes,” he says, flopping facedown into the pillow.

Kise laughs, quiet; his leg is cramping and he pushes at the muscle (he’s got another PT session later; he’s not looking forward to it). It would be nice to forget all of this all over again—and maybe, for fifteen minutes, he can pretend it’s a dream still.

They should stop meeting in the middle of the night, after everyone’s eyes are turned away from them. The moonlight can offer only that much light and warmth, after all, though neither of them truly gets cold.

Himuro smiles at Kise and gestures him into his apartment, clean and way too big for one person to live in. It’s one of these apartments that are reserved for celebrities and that normal people can’t afford unless they sell their body parts, and honestly Himuro doesn’t see the attractiveness of it. The walls are of a cream color, probably to give the impression it’s a comfortable and cosy environment, the furniture is harmoniously in deep red and grey, and the light casts a thin layer of white ice on everything. There is nothing extravagant or particularly amazing.

Kise’s apartment shows similar features, but he says that Himuro’s is better. Himuro jokingly said that it was because of his presence, and Kise, with a bright smile, didn’t deny.
It’s almost two am, but they don’t care. Himuro pours two cups of tea that he puts on the coffee table, and they sit on the couch, too close to share body warmth on this summer day, but not close enough to fill the gap in their hearts. Legs brushing and shoulders bumping, they talk. They talk about today’s events, how annoying that one manager is (always trying to arrange a photoshoot with the model he’s working for), how blinding the new spotlights in the C room are, how Koizumi-san’s curry almost killed everyone with spiciness. They’ve only worked together a handful of times, maybe thrice for a photoshoot and twice for a drama, but the years of basketball they share are enough to bridge the gap and make them feel like old friends.
Maybe they are.
Everyone leads their own life, some of them more successful than others, and time and distance aren’t easy to handle in a world where they used to be surrounded by friends, and more friends.

The cups of tea are always too hot to drink them right away, so they often forget about them. Sometimes because cold tea is disgusting (the leaves are still at the bottom of the cup), other times because they get distracted. There has never been a clear agreement on what they’re doing—their bodies move on their own accord, reacting to what is ministered to them, grasping for more. Kise likes to let his fingers trail on Himuro's hips, and Himuro likes to cup Kise's face in his hands. Each touch burns. It keeps them alive.

Summer is the only season they’re so frequently together, and the heat in August rarely decreases (they keep making tea though, even if they don’t drink it). They’re looking for something, but they don’t know what, but for now Himuro supposes that loneliness can’t be that bad if he shares it with someone.

"He could just be European," Jackal pointed out as he watched Akaya's gaze follow Liliadent as if transfixed.

"Yeah," Akaya said absently, clearly not paying attention. His tongue swiped over his lips, the sharp focus of Akaya's gaze that of a predator tracking its prey.

Akaya clearly hadn't understood so Jackal hit him upside the head but gently.

"Hey!" Akaya looked away from Liliadent finally to scowl-pout at Jackal with wide, injured eyes. "What was that for?"

"Kirihara. He might not be interested in men," Jackal said, spelling it out.

"But look at his hair. And his clothes! He's even got silk socks and perfume on!" Akaya protested, attention swinging back to Liliadent again.

"Krauzer is a German name," Jackal said, watching Liliadent now as the man took a sip from his water bottle, then tossed his head back and laughed in a way that exposed the tanned skin of his throat. "If he's of German descent, then that's just stylish."

"Really?" Akaya's eyebrows drew together as he studied Liliadent more intently. "But I saw him kissing one of his teammates on the cheek."

"That's normal for Europeans," Jackal said patiently. They really needed to pay more attention to Akaya's education if he was this clueless about the rest of the world. "They're very stylish and relaxed."

"But I think his chest is waxed. He took off his shirt to towel down and there wasn't any hair!"

"You don't have any hair either," Jackal couldn't help but point out with a smirk.

Akaya flushed and glared up at him, "That's different! It'll come when I'm older! And besides, white people are more hairy than Japanese men so he should have some on his chest at least if he's not waxing it or shaving it!"

Jackal honestly wasn't sure about that so he let it drop, instead pointing out, "He just waved at one of the girls in the audience that was screaming for him."

"He's being friendly! Lots of people wave to the audience. Especially since this is the Nationals contest, he must be pleased that someone is here to cheer for him," Akaya said. He crossed his arms over his chest and studied Liliadent a little longer. "If he's not gay, then I'm not gay either. You just think he's not gay because you're half-Brazilian."

"..." Akaya's logic baffled Jackal, causing him to pause and try to make sense of it for a little. "What does that have to do with anything?"

"Easy! If you admit he's gay, then you'll have to wonder if all the Brazilians who dress and act like him are also gay!" Akaya's uncrossed his arms and gave a toss of his hair. "I'm going to go talk to him. And tell him it was a good game."

"He crucified you against the mesh with tennis balls," Jackal said disbelievingly.

Akaya grinned, his skin tinting itself a pinker hue. "Like I said, a good game."
